Its a beautiful sunday and it started with nags, nags and nags waking me up. It took me one hour to detach from the ‘magnet’ which never fails to attracts me and hold me never letting me go. haha

Bed super strong magnet. at times i love it and at crucial period a.k.a exams period, i hope it doesnt exist. still ‘communicating’ with him so that we can exist in equilibrium

since its another slacking day, we make our way to one-u. Everyone went with an empty stomach so nothing is more important than food when we reach there.

Chicriceshop you see! we never fail to clean up anything that is edible on the table. arent we scary?

Dessert the best conclusion of a meal is dessert! yeah…

See_bee_3 even see bee couldnt resist the dessert and she got the biggest bowl.

everyone are going ga-ga over chinese new year which is just 2 weeks from now. so, even clothes turns into rojak in Padini Authentics

Rojak_baju lelong! lelong! 3 10 linggit!! hehehe

We even broke the ‘Pharm-School KL Records’ by having 7 sapiens in a SLK! SLK is not mercedes la…SLK in our dictionary means Small Little Kancil! haha

7_ppl 7_ppl_2 7 ppl in the SLK.

Yeah..we broke the record

Thats how we ended the Sunday.

By the way, thank you guys who support my fundraising activity for yellow house project directly and indirectly.

Choco_mash_1 the process of planning and making and producing is tough especially in the midst of assessment. :(

but the satisfaction of producing something which are able to help people beats everything! well, it indeed makes my life more meaningful. :)

and what i really need now is still a good, dreamless sleep.

p/s well, i want that everyday!!! hehe

cheers!!!

Finally, its time to take a breather. Streaks of assessments for almost a month is torturing. Lots of hard work, minimum resting time and maximum mental and physical endurance, kinda pays off with slight satisfaction. so, i’ve been trying my very best, to catch a short nap whenever i could to recharge myself and today, i became

Dsc00333_1 yeah..i look cute right? somehow i wish i could sleep till i turned into something like that.

So, in order to reduce the symptoms of becoming not halal, we decided to slack for the whole day and the highlights of the day is to have a proper and sumptious dinner

Tuckin slurrppp…toothsome food that none of us can resist.

Prawns Even the prawns cant stand our enthusiasm and anticipation and tried to cabut. But, no way man!

We even actually found out ways to Eggget rid of some carcinogenic substance.  Eggs + chau-tar (a.k.a carcinogenic substance) = clean bbq plate for another round of foody goody!

We even had ‘table signs’ to guide the wind so that it goes sehala Sehalablowing all the asap to other people.

Icecream Creamy ice cream for happy soul.

Well, some of us even had free cakes just by wishing an anonymous Happy Birthday!Cake  Hey, i sang birthday song but i didnt get any cakes also. not fair! cis! kekeke

Cheers For As, As and streaks of As we CHEERS!!!! Yeah!!

After 8 hungry and tired As-seeker wobble up all the food, manage to stretch our stomach to the maximum and turned the dining table upside-down. but, left the seat with satisfaction and a bloating stomach. Contented! burrppp~!

and what i really need now is a good, dreamless sleep!

Case Study

Exams turns a week into 7 weekdays. Exams = stress.

Sometimes, scalp scratching is the ‘in’ trend in exams hallExams_1_edited_1. Sometimes, you had all the answers in you mind but it somehows doesnt go to ur pen tip, instead its trying to escape out of your brain. Sometimes, its just an easy task . Sometimes, handing up blank answer sheets is out of your control.

The therapeutics effect of exams

Exams_2_edited

- The satisfaction scoring incredible result

- Makes you cherish your sleeping time

- The excitement declaring ‘Merdeka’

The side-effects of exams:

- The most common ones - you fail your exams

- Energy draining

- Your most untidy and ugly period

- It somehow turns your life upside down.

- The cause of studyleeping syndrome (study-sleeping syndrome)

Studyleeping Syndrome - you dont even realize whether your current state is sleeping or studyinDsc00163g. It could be mentally resting, physically studying. It commonly happens if you study on the bed.

Symptoms: studying body language but actually you are sleeping.

Treatment: never study on the bed.

Its tuesday. I actually had a wonderful and amazing weekend 4 days ago.

Day 1: Friday, 12/1/2007

Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur IntroWeekend was my chance to embark on an expedition. scheduled pharmacology class earlier to 10am but then we had to go back for another 1 in the afternoon. so i had to rushed back home during lunch hour to pack my stuff. reached international youth center at about 5.15pm. wandered around that area for a while before heading into the building. i was one of the early bird and the registration for the introweekend (IW) starts about 6. we had to surrender our valuables and was kept in a brown envelope. when the registration for all the participants were done, we had some games (ice breaking games, monster games and the chair game). we then had packed food for dinner after the games. sat and chatted with lali, michelle, chantzer, lili and a few more. we were then brought into an air-conditioned room. Alan briefed us about Raleigh International and showed us a presentation of photos from previous expedition. that really attracts me.

we were then divided into four groups namely alpha, bravo, charlie and delta. Im placed in team delta comprised of me, bryan, ze xin, tau min, may, michelle, sara, roya, lian shiang, eu win, naveen and our coordinator shih chung. we had a little game to remember names and we got out stuff for the weekend. 2 canvas sheets and a box of army ration (food) which looks not appealing at all at 1st. we helped to carry equipments into the bus and it was dark. nobody knows the time except the staffs la.

i sat beside bryan and the 1 and a half hour (approx) journey took us to the secret camp site. it was pitch dark when we arrived. the bus stopped by the road and we were instructed to remove the equips and our luggages and heads to our campsite. we chose our territory and we start building our ‘hotel’ with rafia strings and the 2 canvas sheets to keep us from shine and rain. after much hardwork and discussion we started ketuk sini ikat sana and got our hotel done for 11 person. i volunteered to be the toilet builder for our weekend. so each rep from each team equipped with a cangkul, we dug a 2 feet deep hole a.k.a international business center at a secluded area not so near and not so far from our camp site. then we slept…..

Day 2: Saturday, 13/1/2007

WAKE UP! i din shout that. we were woken up by the staffs. the dawn was just about to break and it was cooling. everybody gets busy cooking breakfast and so were we. but we were the last team to get prepared as the other teams had left the camp site for activities. we walked like about 300m or so to our 1st activity site. we reached a lake and our 1st task is to build a raft using a few pvc pipes, floats and ropes in 20 minutes to fit in 11 people. so everyone starts working out plans and we manage to get a raft done in time. we set off into the water and start rowing to get some stuff somewhere away from the shore. we manage to complete the task by keeping our ‘lauya’ raft in shape. then we moved on to the 2nd task where we had to cross from a point to the other using planks. we did not complete the task because we only came up with the solution when the time was almost up and i falled acrobatically. haha

then we headed to a river near our campsite for the 3rd activity i.e. to fill up a ‘lubang-ed’ pvc pipe with water to get a ping pong ball out of it. yet again we fail to complete the task. cis..we then headed to our final activity which is to remove a jerry can which were placed in the center of a big square and we were not suppose to cross the square or to touch the area in the square. and you know what, we manage to solve the quest the fastest and eveyone was like YES!. every games is logic and each of it ended with discussion, comments and feedback from the coordinators, team members and the staff. we headed back to the campsite, changed into a dry clothes and cooked lunch. i had black pepper rice for lunch. no doubt, malaysia army eats black pepper rice.

the morning session ended like in the afternoon and we were told that we are going to hike for the noon session. each of us, equipped with 1.5lt of water and we go hiking. the journey from the campsite to the target sites is about a km. the real stuff starts with red mud road, rivers, steep slopes, trails and stones. we had to climb up steep slopes, cross rivers above knee level and of course endure the accumulation of lactic acid especially in the leg. it suddenly rains but after a while we reached a very big stone where the staffs were waiting for us there. we were the 1st team to arrive and we rested there. on the way up, i fed 2 leeches, uncountable mosquitoes and insects with blood. shivering is sweat and rain, we make our journey back to the campsite and its a tough 1. on the way down, eveyone slipped. at some point we had to slide down the slope. then at some point of time we had to pull on to a root to ‘abseil’ down the steep and slippery slopes. the sky gets darker and things were getting tough. night in the jungle is pitch dark. real dark. we make our way down using torchlight, and we reached somewhere near the kaki bukit. because of the rising water level of the river we had to use ropes to cross the river with the help of the staffs. we were out from there sometime after midnight. the stars on the sky was a spectacular one. i’ve never seen stars as beautiful as that. we make our way back, changed into dry clothes, dried my feet around the camp fire and slept. (dead battery)

Day 3, Sunday, 14/1/2007

woken up by ‘tong tong chang’ alarm, result from spoon knocking on mess tin. had corn porridge for breakfast and there were more activities. the 1st one is story listening and i love it. ex-venturers shared their experience going on expedition for 10 weeks to sabah doing community, adventure and environmental phase and thats raleigh international is about. introweekend is the intro. after that, we had our 2nd activity, crossing the ’spider web’ and we failed again. sigh..we then moved on to the last 1 which is commando. we had to move a jerry can a.k.a. general jerry across river, muds, sands and obstacles. we complete the task and we had ‘cappuchino ice cream with chocolate chips’ (wet mud + pebbles and sand) smeared on our face, and body. took pictures and had lots of fun with our coordinator and staff at the river. that was COOL!

headed back wet from head to toe. met 2 friendly dogs on our way back. changed into dry clothes and had our last briefing before we set of back to IYC. we talked bout our experiences throughout the weekend and of course the post-introweekend project which is a community service project. we had our team last cheer and we belted out for that cheer. gathered with other groups and staff. last word from the staff, sang birthday song for 3 participants and a staff and photo taking session. went on the bus. slept in the bus for the whole journey back.

went for the camp alone. strangers became friends. learnt precious lessons not available in books, get to know great people, had fun and i really enjoyed it. The staffs did great job giving us chance of a lifetime and i really appreciate it.

Looking forward for the post-IW project and expedition (hopefully it falls during my sem break)

thats it. tough yet enriching and fun weekend. :)

24 hours to new year. actually i have nothing to blog but then its the end of the year. i think i should come up with a conclusion to summarize and conclude my 2006.

January - spent the 1st 10 minute of 2006 watching a lavish and  spectacular firework display from marina bay. and the rest of the month slogging and working in singapore.

February - immersed in the festive scenario, squeezed through uncountable humans at chinatown just to get marshmallow. well, that was an excuse to go all the way to chinatown to enjoy the chinese new year atmosphere. the rest of the month, i hit my sales target! haha

March - involved in the SIngapore PC Show at Suntec City. learnt a lot and made friends. an emotion draining and mental torture month. 16 of March 2006, 10.30 a.m.

April - still hit my sales target but not ecstatic anymore. starts planning to leave this job and give myself a break.

May - officially resign on the 2nd of May and left singapore the day itself. fulfilled my dream since young i.e. to be a scuba diver and i obtained my PADI licence on the 18th of May 2006. the best 5 days on the island which is also the best 5 days i’ve ever spent in 2006.

June - my birthday and it actually rhymes this year. 06-06-06. devils number. haha. went to redang island with a group of friends. went diving again. unforgettable ones. got the results for university entry and i was offered life science at Malaya University. my 1st choice in the application form and also the same course i applied for in the National University of Singapore. eventually, i chose pharmacy instead of Malaya.

July - uni life starts. made new friends. hectic lifestyle begins but not the uni life i’ve always wanted. italy won world cup and i watched it live.

August - burdened with endless reports to rush. donated blood for the 1st time and it was to the national blood centre.

September - i wonder what happen to me this month?

October - exams month. everybody getting haywire. sat the 1st paper on the last day of this month.

November - sat all the papers and went for a trip to ipoh and cameron highland. went back to bp and turned into a slacker.

December - stick my eyes on tv for doha games for the 1st 2 weeks. back for the 2nd sem the last 2 weeks. got my final exams results while watching happy feet in the cinema. went around shopping for new year clothes on christmas and blogs on the 31st of december.

the gist of 2006 - full of ups and downs (30% ups and 70% down). looking forward for a better 2007. a simple wish from me.

i wonder what would i be doing in the 1st 10 minutes of 2007?

school starts monday. a new sem, a new introduction. sem breaks for a month and my occupation transformed to be a lazy man. laze around the whole month. spent the 2 weeks doing nothing at home. dailty routine = eat-tv-eat-tv-online-sleep. then the other 2 weeks, daily routine = eat-tv-eat-tv-online-sleep + doha 2006 + finale of amazing race 10.

passed all my papers. to me, just on par. hoping for birdie or eagle. haha…kidding..not really satisfied. but grateful to pass all my papers.

new sem = 7 subjects to cope. did not do much planning on how to meddle with this troublesome 7. conversely, im reading a lot on backpacking guide and thinking of a backpacking tour to thailand after next sem or to take my advance diving license. you see…im really busy. haha…busy planning for my holidays without even peeking at the toughest hurdles just right in front of my eyes. :)
xmas just around the corner. last year at this time im working in singapore. spent my xmas with friends in singapore. immersed in the festive atmosphere and the wonderful xmas lighting and ‘pseudo-snow’. i would say one of the best xmas i’ve ever had.

new challenges awaits. merry xmas to you. =)

Its holiday! duh..it actually started 9 days ago. my holiday started with a haste yet enjoyable short trip to ipoh and cameron highland. ipoh - a blend of old and new scenario. it could be rows of japanese occupation building and new buildings just a stone throw away. exceptional toothsome and yummy food. sllrrppp..:) cameron highland - nice weather but turns super cold at night. thumbs up for the soothing environment. makes me super lazy. hehe

well thats all i could say. almost a week at home and i have 1 phrase for everyone. Im super duper boring. yeah, its boring staying at home the whole week. the clock ticks like tortoise and im lagging the whole week repeating the same routine. brunch-tv-online-tv-tea break-tv-dinner-tv-online-ZZzzzzZzZ. but at the very least , just went out with toh and sze yea. just the 3 of us but we couldnt stop talking. hopefully this is a good introduction for my sem break and signifies the end of the boring week. so, a little confetti for a wonderful beginning.

well, the other good thing back at home is that im back for survivor and amazing race. so i have 3 important things to follow up. firstly survivor: cook island, amazing race 10 and last but not least amazing race asia. what a lame thing to follow up but no choice. this is the best thing, the most educational stuff i could think off during the break. at least i know abseiling down 8th floors in times square and also the helsinky olympic stadium tower face down is not impossible, provided if you watch amazing race. haha.

getting food is the easiest back at home. makan-ing a lot and im sure im undergoing appositional growth.

The gist of it is that, somehow i dislike holidays, prefer the studying days minus exams. :)
